I started teaching at Bridgewater in January 2018. I was already familiar with Bridgewater school having been a parent helper since my two boys (now aged 6 and 8) started at the school. I completed my teacher training in London in 2003 and then taught at the same school for 3 years, teaching Year 1 and Year 4, before moving to Berkhamsted.
Following my move to Berkhamsted and a short stint at supply teaching, I began teaching Reception class at an Infants school in Tring. I taught there until the birth of my second son in January 2012.
When I am not at school, I enjoy badminton, pilates, cycling, reading and gardening. I have also recently started a volunteer role with The Donkey Sanctuary, helping with their donkey therapy program. This involves travelling with 2 donkeys, to various settings for children and adults with additional needs, and encouraging the adults and children to lead, stroke, groom and interact with the donkeys.
I have only recently returned to teaching and currently teach one day a week in Year 2. I have been made to feel very welcome by the staff at Bridgewater and also by all of the lovely children in Swallow class. It is great to be working in such a friendly school and I am enjoying the opportunity to work with children once again.
