Pupil Premium

Purpose

 

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. Below you'll find the policy governing how the pupil premium is used at Bridgewater Primary and the plans for how the money will be used to support disadvantaged pupils.

Licence for Matheletics

Children’s barriers to learning will be identified through half-termly PP meetings and targeted using the Matheletics programme.

Increase in % PPG children achieving good or better progress than previous year.

Interventions Teaching Assistant  to organise and/or lead interventions

Children's barriers to learning will be identified and appropriate interventions put in place to accelerate progress and diminish differences.  It may include social skills, one to one tuition and mentor support.

Successful interventions will show progress in learning which is monitored and tracked by SENDCo monthly and at pupil progress meetings.

Counselling

Children experiencing significant social, emotional difficulties etc. will be identified and supported by 1:1 counselling sessions.

Emotional wellbeing is more positive and is evident in class with improved behaviour for learning

Financial assistance

Pupils will have appropriate equipment and participate in school trips and activities.

Children's’ confidence improves as they have a sense of being part of the school community, with opportunities to participate fully in school life and outside.

Additional TYA support in Y1

5 PP children in Y1. TA deployed to support the learning and progress of these pupils. . Children’s barriers to learning will be identified and appropriate interventions put in place. To diminish differences.
