Good Morning everyone! It looks as though you have had fun with all the snail challenges so far this week.
We have loved all your spiralling writing and the spring scales were fun.
We hope you went out in your wellies in the rain in true Bridgewater style. Did you find any worms or snails? They love the rain don't they?
Have fun with today's challenges.

Slimy, shiny shell......

Ed Bear's Diary
It was very wet and soggy yesterday so I stayed in and listened to the story 'Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell'. I enjoyed it so much I decided not to worry about the rain and I went on a walk to try to find some snails. The first snail we found put his head back in his shell before I could take the photo but I got a great photo of the second snail we found. I hope you like the pictures, I'm off to try the snail art challenge for today, it sounds fun. Bye for now, Ed Bear x

Enjoy this weighing challenge and learn how to make your own spring scales. Have fun!
Happy Tuesday everyone and welcome to another day of fun challenges.
I hope you enjoyed that silly story yesterday about Norman the Slug. His doughnut shell did look quite delicious didn't it?
We have more challenges for you today and another story.
We hope you have a lovely day.
Have fun!

Hello Goldcrest. It was a bit dull yesterday morning when I got up so I decided to help Mrs Fullman clean her car as it was very dusty and dirty. I cleaned the wheels and the bumpers and she did the rest because I couldn't reach!! It started raining after lunch and we thought we should have left it as the car would have cleaned itself! I popped into school in the afternoon and I played with one of the Nursery bears with the dolls house, we arranged all the furniture and planned what we'd put in our dream house. I would like a slide from my bedroom to a really big ball pit somewhere downstairs and he said he would like huge comfy chairs and a big screen so it would feel like he was at the cinema on film nights! Have a happy Tuesday, Ed x

Monday 27th April Norman the slug challenges
Good Morning everyone and I hope you enjoyed the weekend of sunshine!
I went for a walk in the bluebells and they were so beautiful. They smelled lovely too.
Have you seen what Ed Bear has been up to this week? He is a cheeky teddy isn't he?
We have loved hearing all about your Hungry caterpillar work. Keiran has been watching his own caterpillars make cocoons and get ready to become butterflies and Jack found an empty cocoon.
This week we thought we would carry on with mini beasts so we have chosen the rather funny story of Norman the Slug with the Silly shell.
listen to the story and then have fun doing some of our challenges.
Good luck and have fun
Goldcrest Team
Hello Goldcrest!
We love getting you emails and we have been reading about how you all like Ed Bear’s diary.
I have a little challenge for you all this week.
Please can you send a picture of your special ted/soft toy/cuddly to me? Just your toy, not you too!
I’m going to make a class flag. I can then send it to you all so that you can have a copy at home too?
Please send them to me by Friday 1st May and I will collate them all into one image over the weekend.
Thank you! Mrs Berry
We have loved getting your photos this week. You have been having such fun! . Enjoy seeing your friends and we look forward to another fun week next week.

Happy Monday Goldcrest! Wow what a lovely sunny weekend, I hope you had fun! As it was such a beautiful day on Saturday I asked if I could camp in the garden. I put my tent in a sunny spot and collected lots of sticks so I could have a camp fire in the evening. It was very thirsty work so I had a little rest and a snack when I'd finished. When it started to go dark I got my camping light ready, made up my bed and then lit the lanterns and the fire, I had to be really careful and make sure it was safe, I got quite chilly just before bedtime so I had a hot chocolate and toasted some marshmallows on the fire. I then snuggled down in my sleeping bag and slept well all night. In the morning it was so hot we got the paddling pool out and played zoom ball it was great fun and but whizzing the ball back and forth did make my arms ache! I'm off now to see what the challenges are for today. Bye, Ed x

Friday 24th April
Happy Friday everyone! Did you know that today would be Friday? It's hard remembering the days of the week at the moment but hopefully you had some fun singing the days of the week song and putting them in order yesterday.
We finish our story about The Very Hungry Caterpillar today. Our challenge is to go out and search for your own minibeasts today and write a little bit about them. I found a tiny green caterpillar in my garden yesterday - it just appeared on my arm! He definitely didn't look quite as hungry as the one in the story.
For phonics today we are looking at the 'oi' diagraph. There is also a story - A Cuddle for Claude to enjoy.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the sunshine - again!!

Family Learning. Days of the week, days of the week! What a busy week you have had. You have baked and biked, chopped and chatted, played and planted! We have lots of fun things that you might like to try at home over the next week. We are sure you will have your own ideas too. We love seeing your photographs and hearing your news. Thank you too to our class reps who have shared a ‘Home Learning’ feedback request from SLT. We look forward to reading your replies and making sure we have got the balance right. We do understand that all families are different. Some parents are juggling working from home and others are not working at the mo. We all have our good and not-so-good days too? The opportunity for the children to have time for self-directed play is one of the positives? Long, uninterrupted time to play and be more creative and imaginative.…….. So from Team Bridgewater, a BIG THANK YOU to you all. You are doing a great job.

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's the end of the week already, I've had so much fun with the Hungry Caterpillar challenges this week has flown by. I phoned all my bear friends yesterday to see if they liked the Hungry Caterpillar story and to ask them which fruit they like the best. Strawberries are my favourite fruit but bananas were the most popular and not many bears like melons because they are quite big and tricky to cut. I made some leaves and wrote the days of the week on them. I drew the Hungry Caterpillar's fruit and then decided to make my own Hungry Caterpillar out of vegetables, can you see what I've used? I hope you've had a fun week, I'm off to sit in the garden and read some stories to relax, I might try and think of something fun to do at the weekend too! Bye, Ed Bear x

Thursday 23rd April
Good morning everyone! Aren't we lucky with the beautiful weather we are having this week - did you spend some time outside yesterday?
I enjoyed playing with my swing ball set and did a bit of gardening too - there seem to be so many weeds!
I hope you enjoyed writing what you like to eat - we loved seeing your pictures.
In the story, the hungry caterpillar eats something new. everyday. So today we are going to think about the days of the week and how to write and order them. We have a fun song to sing as well. For phonics, the challenge is to see if you can write the capital letters in the alphabet.
I will add a link to a video called 'Come Outside'. Aunty Mabel finds out all about butterflies - you might like to watch it.
We also have a story for you - 'The Queen's Hat'.
Have a great day!

Wednesday 22nd April
Good Morning! Looks like another lovely sunny day ahead - I bet you'll enjoy being outside.
How did you get on with yesterday's challenge of repeating patterns? Did you have any luck finding any diagraphs around the house? I couldn't believe how many were in my place.
Today, you can have a go at writing what things you like to eat. Is it melon, or maybe grapes or even cake? For phonics today we are looking at the alphabet and lower and uppercase letters. There is also a story for you to enjoy.
Have a great day!

Morning! Yesterday Mrs Fullman went to school so I took her dog for a walk for her, he got a bit tired and had to have a rest half way round! In the afternoon I popped into school to find a copy of the Hungry Caterpillar to read as it's one of my favourite stories. He ate 2 pears on Tuesday so I thought I would copy him and had pears for a snack with Gogo Bear. I can't wait for Thursday because I love strawberries and the Hungry Caterpillar eats 4 of them so I think I'll copy him again! Bye for now, Ed Bear x

Tuesday 21st April
Morning!
How did you get on with the Hungry Caterpillar leaf challenge yesterday? What a very hungry caterpillar he was - are you as hungry as him?
I love the animated story of the Very Hungry Caterpillar- did you watch it?
Today I will put a link to a video with Eric Carle reading the story - he was the author of the story. His website https://eric-carle.com/ has lots of things you can explore too.
Today, you can have a go at making your own caterpillars - and see if you can colour them in a repeating pattern.
We also have another handwriting letter from the curly caterpillar family - the letter f.
Our phonics today is to go on a diagraph hunt.
Good Luck and have fun!

Hello Goldcrest, I hope you had a fantastic Easter break, did you like my Easter egg hunt pictures? I know that some of you have been gardening and planting recently and my Easter challenge was to learn how to grow vegetables. I was lucky enough to have some help from gardening bear Monty. I thought I'd share the photos I took of him teaching me what to do. We dug holes for cucumbers and trenches for carrot seeds and Monty taught me how to cover the seeds carefully with soil. You can see that some of the carrots he planted a while ago have already started to sprout and the courgettes are getting really tall, so we had to water them. When Monty watered the tomatoes he splashed water all over me and I'd accidentally got him covered in soil when I was digging so we both needed a bath by the end of the afternoon!! We really enjoyed sniffing the herbs and cut some rosemary so we could have rosemary salted chips for tea - yum, yum. I think I like the smell of rosemary the best and Monty's favourite was the thyme. Mrs Fullman's ordered some special seeds so she can grow wild flowers that attract bees and I can't wait to help her plant them, now I'm an expert! I look forward to finding out what you've all been up to over Easter. Bye for now, Ed Bear x

Monday 20th April - Welcome Back!
Hello everyone! Welcome back. Did you have a lovely Easter break - and maybe got to eat some yummy chocolate eggs too?
I got a delicious chocolate bunny who was covered in gold, and we had an Easter egg hunt around the house. It was great fun.
I bet you've enjoyed being outside in the sunshine too - hasn't the weather been lovely.
We have been thinking of you all and hope that you and your families are keeping well and enjoying time together.
This week we are doing one of my favourite books - The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. You probably know the story well and might even have it in your bookcase. Today, we have the story for you to watch, a caterpillar leaf writing challenge and some phonics too.
Have fun.

Ed Bear's Diary (Easter Sunday)
Hi Goldcresters and a very happy Easter to you and your families! I hope you're having a great Easter break and have managed to get out in your gardens and enjoy the sunshine. I went on a fantastic Easter egg hunt in the garden and there were even some chocolate bunnies! The eggs and bunnies were hidden up trees, in bushes, in pots, behind the shed and some were hidden in the middle of plants! By the time we'd found all the eggs and bunnies, the chocolate was beginning to melt as the sun was so hot so we sat in the shade and shared them all out and had a chocolate picnic. After all that climbing and running around the garden we were a bit tired, and I think I ate a bit too much chocolate, so we all had a little lie down and I even fell asleep and Honey Bear woke me up because I was snoring! Bye for now, Ed x

Friday 3rd April
It's Friday, the last day before the Easter break and we have a really 'eggciting' activity for you today, we hope you have fun with your family doing today's challenge. We hope you have a lovely Easter break, and that maybe the Easter Bunny will pay you a visit. There will be a family/ home learning information sheet on here later today, but what we want you all to do most of all is have a lovely Easter with your family. Remember if you do anything and would like to tell us about it ask your grown up to send us a message and maybe a photo.
Happy Easter everyone.
Morning Goldcrest! We have so enjoyed seeing your photographs and reading your messages. Thank you all. We have sent some ideas for Family Learning for the Easter holidays. We are sure you will have your own ideas too - because when we are together in school we love watching how you play and lead your own learning….. By popular request some Physi-gym moves – pick your favourite tunes and go for it! Together rain or shine x

Happy Friday Team Goldcrest. I've been very busy, I went into school yesterday and was so happy to see Mrs Berry and we had a chat about how much we like seeing pictures of all your work and exciting things you're all getting up to. Mrs Berry then had an important meeting so I went out to the meadow and was climbing a tree when Go Go bear came along so we had a game of football and then played catch. Mrs Berry told me about all the ideas of things to do at home that there are on the website so when I got home I had a look and decided to make my very own number line. I'm going to make another one with things I find outside in the garden later. I thought you'd also like to see a picture of the eggs I drew on once I'd finished my number sentences - I had such a lot of fun drawing on them! I'll have to make one out of paper so I can put it in the window like some of you have done. I hope you and your families have a really fantastic Easter. Bye for now, Ed x

Enjoy some of the photos that have been sent in to us this week. What a busy week we have had full of fun and learning!

Thursday 2nd April
Good morning, we saw some pictures of some beautiful eggs yesterday, I wonder if you will spot any in the windows when you go out for a walk? There is a maths challenge and some phonics for today, and a story time for you to enjoy. I hope you all have a great day.
Wednesday 1st April
Hello, it's April fools day, Will you play any tricks today?
It was so great to see that some of you had a go at the handwriting yesterday, we saw some really careful handwriting. Today we have a fun mark making challenge and some more phonics, as well as a brand new story time. We hope you have a fantastic day again.
Ed Bear's Diary
Happy April Fools Day! I wonder if you're going to play any tricks this morning? I got up early so I could play some tricks on Mrs Fullman! I've put out breakfast for her but I've frozen her orange juice so when she tries to drink it, it won't come out (I took a picture with the glass upside down so you can see). I've drawn a little spider on the toilet roll and I'm hoping that might make her jump and I'm about to send her an old photo of me in the sandpit school and pretend I've gone on holiday - bur really I'm going to hide in another room and then when she's read the message I'm going to jump out and shout 'April Fools'!! Do you think she'll find my tricks funny? I hope so! I'd better go and hide she'll be getting up soon. Bye for now, Ed Bear x
