Cultural Diversity week 7.2.22
Swallow class chose South Africa as their country to learn about this week. Mrs Farrell is from South Africa and we all enjoyed hearing about her homeland and asking her questions. We learned some great facts and loved hearing her play the vuvuzela! Mrs Gibbs Jones is also from South Africa and she made us a delicious milk tart to try, it is a traditional South African desert. We also had a great time learning a Gumboot Dance and listening to traditional music in our dance workshop.
We made several pieces of art work inspired by South Africa. We colour mixed and painted sunsets and cut out wild animals including the 'Big Five', lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and rhinos. We looked at the colourful homes and clothing of the Ndebele tribe and made our own Ndebele inspired artwork.
