We have enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year by making and tasting Stir Fry, making a giant dragon and dancing in a parade. We read The Great Race story to learn about the animals of the Chinese Calendar and explored other aspects linked to China.
We have also celebrated Cultural Diversity week where we focussed our learning around the common wealth country, South Africa. We are very thankful to our parent volunteers who we are now welcoming back into school and for the books that we borrowed. The children enjoyed learning all about South Africa from them.
We hope you all had a well deserved break during half term. Many children returned with stories of their travels and this lead nicely onto our new topic 'Transport'. We have created a Train station in class and children are enjoying reading about different modes of transport, building cars, trains and planes and reading fiction and non-fiction about these stories.
We then celebrated St. David's day with another parent talk to teach us some Welsh songs, words and we ever ate Welsh Cakes.
It was also Pancake day! we made and tasted pancakes and listened to stories about pancake races.
Finally this month we celebrated World book day where we came into school in our Pyjamas and brought a book to share. The children watched a live log of how illustrators develop their ideas for stories. Thank you to those who supported our book fair by purchasing books.
Thank you again for all our parent helpers.
