COLLEGE LAKE TRIP
We had the best time at our college lake trip.
We helped Edward Bear solve the mystery puzzle for SWAF and find what the bears need to survive.
SHELTER WATER AIR FOOD
We took part in different activities:
SWAF Game
Senses and flower garden
Making a shelter in teams
and our favourite part...
TEDDY BEAR'S PICNIC!
DUCKLINGS!
We were very excited to meet Ducklings in Ducklings class.
They were super cute and very soft.
We had to learn to sit still and be careful so that we didn't scare the ducklings when we were around them.
We learnt all about Ramadan and Eid!
Ramadan and Eid is a very special time for Mrs Islam, just like Christmas and other celebrations throughout the year. We took part in different activities including, mosque making, card making, jewellery making, decorations, lanterns, and even making chocolate covered dates. They were yummy! We learnt all about fasting and how it is celebrated at the end of the month.
ARTS WEEK!
We had the best week during arts' week with lots of fun involving tie-dye, weaving small and big scale, painting and printing.
We really enjoyed exploring the different processes and talking about what would happen if...
Forest School
AUSTRALIA DAY!
We had a wonderful day celebrating Australia day.
We dressed up, had fairy bread and pretended to fly on a plane for the day for our journey across the world.
I'M STICKMAN I'M STICKMAN I'M STICKMAN... THAT'S ME!
We painted our own winter trees using sticks from our Meadow area.
We also made our own stickman and stickwoman drawings using a stick for their body and by adding our own features.
All things Christmassy!
We have really enjoyed celebrating the lead up to Christmas in school,
We watched performances, baked and decorated cakes and even attended our own class party! So much fun...
Let it snow, let is snow, let it snow!
Remembrance Day
We made poppies to celebrate and talk about remembrance day and why poppies are so significant.
Anti-Bullying week!
We looked at the Story of Elmer and talked about being unique. We made Elmer masks and a self portait of ourselves using natural materials outdoors.
ONCE THERE WAS A STAR!
We loved making paintings for our story focus of 'Once there was a star!'
DIWALI!
We celebrated Diwali and learnt all about the story of why people celebrate Diwali around the world.
Leo's mummy (Sam) helped us to learn the story and talk about
the different things that people make to celebrate with
their families.
Leo's mummy showed us how to make beautiful and colourful
Rangoli patterns on the ground using stencils and coloured powder.
We also decorated biscuits, made paper lanterns, Diwali cards and clay pots.
The Tiger who came to Tea.
We really enjoyed learning all about the story of 'The Tiger who came to Tea'.
In Goldcrest, the children have loved making their own menus for a cafe and serving food to their customers whether it be pizza, ice cream, chips or salad!
For our story, we designed our own plate of food that we would serve to the tiger if he ever came to tea at house. We also made our own sandwiches and gobbled them up as they were so delicious! We talked about spreading butter and jam carefully, folding the bread in half and then cutting it down the middle or diagonally to make two squares or two triangles.
We even mixed colours to make orange and painted and decorated our own paper plate tiger masks. We added ears, eyes, whiskers, a nose and stripes.
AND TANGO MAKES THREE...
For our focus on 'And Tango makes Three'
We had lots fun trying to rescue the penguin that was stuck in the ice.
We had to work together to think of ways to help the penguin.
We used different tools and our knowledge of ice melting and finally managed to get the penguin out!
Our Goldcrest bird!
We used different techniques to make our Goldcrest bird.
We tore the tissue paper,
Snipped some card to make feathers,
Glued the body of the bird,
And put it altogether to make our Goldcrest.
