Role on board:
I joined the governing body in January 2020 as an associate governor.
Professional skills / background:
I have over 25 years of IT experience through a number of roles varying from start up companies through to multinational financial services institutions and I currently lead a team at a global investment company managing a number of in house and externally developed systems. Prior to the working world, I gained an HND and BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MSc in Information Systems Design.
Interest in being a governor:
I feel very strongly that IT should form valuable part of the education that all children receive. Assisting the school with my strong IT background is something I feel passionate about and I look forward to working with the other governors and teachers to ensure that Bridgewater continues to excel not only in this area but more broadly. My decision to become a governor was driven by my love for the school and its ethos. We have two sons at Bridgewater who even at their young age sing the praises of the environment in which they are educated.
Your advice to / quote for children at Bridgewater school:
“Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why we call it ‘The Present’.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
