Outdoor Learning Day
We read a passage about newts from the book, discussing the animal group they belong to and their natural habitats. Afterwards, we visited the pond to search for newts and made our own sketches of them. We cut out our drawings and painted them, inspired by the orange and black newt from the book. Using Q-tips, we added black spots to our newts for detail. Then, we painted a habitat background with watercolours and placed our newts in the centre. The final result was a collection of beautiful posters featuring orange and black-spotted newts!
