In this section you will find a quick reference guide to your class including your Forest School rotation, letters and uniform requirements. There is also a copy of the welcome booklet for your class - please do refer to it throughout the year because it contains lots of useful information about what to expect in this class, how long homework should take each week, samples of age-appropriate handwriting and more.
In the event of a school closure, we will post home learning activities onto the website;
You can find your child's Forest School Timetable here.

SRE Curriculum
This year we will continue to teach the children using materials from our new Sex and Relationships Education (SRE) scheme. This new edition of ‘Teaching SRE with Confidence in Primary Schools’ reflects the recent developments in SRE and the Science National Curriculum. This resource encourages children to develop the skills of listening, empathy, talking about feelings and relationships with families and friends.
All the lessons have a clear structure and are age appropriate. The lesson plans have clear aims and learning outcomes with suggested additional activities and accompanying resources:

Oi Bridgewater School - thank you for your rhyming pictures :-)
Christmas is getting close! We have been making reindeer food and writing our recipes down, creating beautiful Christmas art and we have enjoyed doing our Christmas shopping in our toy shop.
We have had a colourful and creative week this week. We have learnt how to make our own paints using powder paint, and we explored making lots of different colours. We also learnt about 2d shapes, and created lots of pictures, patterns and models using shapes. We enjoyed exploring the sounds we could make with different instruments - it was quite noisy! Some of us were so excited to have started phonics that we decided to make cards and write messages to our families.
This week we have shared the story Dear Zoo. We have painted and drawn animals, written about our favourite animals, made our own books, built containers for the zookeeper to transport the animals in and made lots of play-doh food for the animals.
We began the week by practising our counting skills - counting bears inside and outside our classroom.
We also enjoyed the sunny weather in the meadow.
We found out about how to enjoy and play in our meadow. Then we put our new tree climbing skills into practise and carried out many rescue missions to save forest animals from the tree branches.
After the animals were rescued some of us needed a rest...
We've also found time to get our meadow ready for the autumn with some planting, wash the bikes and play with the dinosaurs.
First week fun.
Firecrest - September 2019
We went for a lovely Autumn walk and collected lots of Autumn treasures that we then used to create patterns and art work.
We enjoyed making and eating pizza, just like the Little Red Hen.
It was fun celebrating Go Go Bear's birthday, we made cakes and party hats and wrote invitations in preparation for the party.
The big balance scales that Grace's dad has made us are really good fun!
Remembrance Day.
Lots of thinking, how many different ways can you make 5?
We loved playing pirates, we went for adventures on our ship, made treasure maps and telescopes, and even dug up some 'real' treasure.
4th September 2019
We have enjoyed our first day in school.
September 5th 2019
Another busy first day in Firecrest.
10th December 2019
Nativity.
We made a bird hide and enjoyed watching and counting the birds for the Great British Bird Watch.
Exploring cornflour.
What happens when you add water?
What happens when you mix it up?
Chinese New Year was great fun. We made lots of dragons, we made stir fry and ate it using chopstick, we even found chocolate coins in our lucky red envelopes.
Oh no! some of our toys have gone missing! We became detectives and hunted for clues.
During cultural week Miss Mitchell taught us all about Australia. We loved creating some aboriginal art and learning about Australian animals.
