Spring Term The FaB Lab
Years 5&6 – Tuesday, Years 3&4 - Wednesday
The FaB (Food and Body) Lab aims to inspire your children to develop a curious attitude towards food by getting our hands dirty and testing their taste buds!
Understanding how to feed ourselves properly is one of the most important life
lessons we will ever learn. At The FaB Lab, our aim is to inspire your child’s
curiosity in food by exploring flavours, colours and textures, discovering how it
fuels, heals and travels through your body, and developing a positive attitude
towards all types of food. Aprons are provided as we encourage having fun and
getting messy!
Each week we explore a different topic, which often involves making a simple
healthy snack to take home, learning kitchen skills, or experimenting with
flavours. This term’s classes included the ‘Sugar Detectives’, which looked at
how much sugar is contained in everyday food/drink and thinking about simple
swaps we can make, and ‘Eat the Rainbow’, where the children discovered how
different colour fruits and vegetables benefit our health and made a rainbow
salad to take home.
All our classes and handouts are developed by Louise, a registered Nutritionist
who is passionate about food education, ensuring that our content is
thoroughly researched and up to date.
