Jon Pettifer, Music Teacher - Year 6
Hello, I'm Jon Pettifer, Music Teacher for Kite and Buzzard classes (Y6) and I'm proud to be a member of the Bridgewater team.
I have had a lifelong passion for music in all its forms but my main musical journey began at the age of 11, when I picked up my first trumpet. Ever since that day it has been my constant companion. Beyond the classroom, you'll often find me rehearsing and performing in a variety of different bands and ensembles. My favourite style to play is jazz.
Music isn't just a profession for me; it's a lifelong love that I'm eager to pass on to our students. In addition to teaching here at Bridgewater, I have the pleasure of being a Curriculum Music Teacher in four other Hertfordshire primary schools, working with children from Nursery up to Year 6.
In my personal life, I am a proud parent to two children, Rosie aged 19, who plays the trumpet and Lucy aged 16, who plays the clarinet and saxophone. As you can imagine, our house can be very noisy at times ! I have to practise an awful lot now, as I am worried that they are getting better than me!
Whilst I am very passionate about my music, I also find joy in cheering for my favourite sports teams, particularly in cricket and rugby and I love to go walking in the countryside.
