Tom Bissenden, Co-opted (Vice-Chair)
Role on Board:
I joined the governing body in September 2024 as a Co-opted governor. I’m currently the Vice Chair, Health & Safety Link and sit on the Resources Committee.
Professional skills/background:
I have over 20 years of experience in Procurement and Supply Chain roles and have worked across various industry sectors and countries.
Throughout my career, I have progressively advanced to leadership positions. I have deep experience in connecting colleagues and stakeholders to deliver complex projects and achieve common goals. Outside of work, I stay active by cycling and running, while also keeping up with my children’s interests.
Interest in being a Governor:
My eldest child completed her primary education at Bridgewater, and my younger son is currently a pupil at the school. During this time, I have enjoyed supporting a number of BSA events and participating in several “Big Digs”, which inspired me to contribute further and give something back to the school community. I am keen to use my professional background and experience to support Bridgewater’s ongoing strategy and development, while also learning from fellow governors, staff, and teachers about how we can continue to make the school an excellent place for children to learn and thrive.
Your advice/quote for children at Bridgewater school:
“One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.”
