Are you an inspiring, creative, and highly-motivated teacher ready to take the next step in your career? Bridgewater Primary School & Nursery is seeking an exceptional and caring professional to join our team as an Early Years (Reception/Year 1) Teacher and Phase Lead starting in September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to teach within our vibrant two-form entry school and lead a critical phase, driving forward our commitment to a gentle, child-centred transition from Nursery through to Year 1.
The Role: Lead and Transform
This role combines classroom teaching with significant leadership responsibilities, offering a rewarding blend of direct pupil impact and strategic whole-phase development.
Key Responsibilities as Phase Lead:
- Strategic Leadership: Leading and managing the Nursery and Reception team, fostering a culture of collaboration, high standards, and continuous improvement.
- Curriculum Development: Ensuring a smooth, child-centred transition for all pupils between EYFS and Year 1, embedding a rich curriculum that balances child-initiated play with structured learning.
- Staff Development: Mentoring and supporting colleagues in the phase, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to drive best practice in early years pedagogy.
- Raising Standards: Setting and maintaining high expectations for teaching, learning, and pupil attainment across the phase.
As a Class Teacher, you will:
- Join our dedicated Reception or Year 1 team (specific year group to be confirmed).
- Create a joyful, well-resourced, and stimulating learning environment.
- Place children at the centre of all decision-making, bringing a fresh and inspiring perspective to our teaching team.
