DT pulley buckets 9.2.23
We made a bucket operated by a pulley. First we made a Great Fire of London collage background. We used a plastic yoghurt pot for the bucket and attached a cardboard handle. We investigated waterproof materials in science a few weeks, so we knew that plastic is waterproof. We attached the bucket to a cotton reel and attached the cotton reel to some dowelling. The cotton reel, string and dowelling made a pulley. We were able to raise and lower the bucket using the pulley. We thought our pullies and buckets would have been better than the leather buckets used in 1666!
