Our Governors
A diverse community of leaders
Our Governing Body comprises a mix of parents and professionals from our local community who want to make a positive contribution to children's education and we're proud of the impact that they've had on our school in recent years.
The role of the governing body is strategic, not operational. The day-to-day running of the school is for the head teacher rather than for governors. We have three main responsibilities: (a) to set the vision and values of the school, (b) to hold the head teacher to account for the performance of the school and (c) to manage the school's finances. The governing body supports the school but also challenges it to maintain and improve standards for the benefit of all pupils.
As well as attending monthly meetings, each governor is asked to take on specific duties, very often related to their individual areas of expertise. They also attend lots of events at school, including pupil progress meetings, information evenings, performances and assemblies.
You can read news and updates from governors in the Governors' Gazette. Biographies of our governors can be found on the Our Governors page and their names and photographs are on display in the reception area of the school.
