SEN Learning Support Assistant
Bridgewater is a warm and friendly school. We are ambitious, creative, forward-thinking and are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our supportive, friendly and hardworking team.
At Bridgewater, we adopt a therapeutic approach to behaviour management. This positive, connection-focused method prioritises understanding the causes of challenging behaviour and aims to help pupils feel better so that they behave better, rather than simply punishing misbehaviour. It focuses on creating a supportive environment, building relationships, and using empathy, especially for those with trauma, to replace unwanted behaviours with prosocial ones.
We are looking to appoint a friendly and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide learning and care support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN) on a one to one basis; work with the teachers to plan and deliver activities, support the pupil with routines, transitions and behaviour management and support children at lunchtime, as directed by the school leadership team.
Candidates will need to be confident that they will be able to fulfil all aspects of the Learning Support Assistant role, have a caring and nurturing approach to understanding the needs of child/ren, excellent communication and enjoy being part of a team.
The post is full time working: 8.15am until 3.15pm (half hour lunchbreak)
Bridgewater is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.
