Becky Brown, Teacher - Year 6 (Buzzard)
I have been a teacher for 16 years now, the last eight of which have been at Bridgewater where I taught Year 6 for six years before taking on Year 4 for the last two (and currently). Before I came here, I taught in Hemel Hempstead, in a two-form-entry primary school, where I worked in Year 4 - for 8 years in a row! While working in Hemel, I took a little bit of time out to have my own two children (now aged 11 and 15).
When I first arrived at Bridgewater, we were a four-form-entry middle school where I taught English, Maths and Science to several Year 6 classes! Since then, I have been lucky enough to be involved in the amazing journey to where we are now and am so proud to be a part of the passionate and caring school that we have nurtured. I have a real passion for science and nature and feel very fortunate that I can enjoy these through supporting the pupils in our Eco Council to save our planet.
The family spirit that we share makes this a very special place to work. Staff and children work together as a team and I really feel like people here are part of my wider family. I love the enthusiasm of the staff for offering the children the most exciting and engaging learning experiences that they can – and the enthusiasm of the children, as they go through our school.
Being part of our Bridgewater family still brings me great joy and I hope to be here for many years to come.
