We had a great day at the Christopher Columbus WOW day.  In the morning we enjoyed a workshop lead by Sarah from One Day Creative.  The children used drama to explore what it was like to live in Italy and Spain in the days of Columbus, what life was like on his ships and what happened when Columbus returned to Spain.  The children also thought about Columbus' actions and the implications and repercussions of his expeditions. In the afternoon we made ships biscuits, similar to those that would've been taken onboard Columbus' ships in the 1500s.  They tasted delicious!  We made ship artwork using spices similar to those Columbus sought on his journeys across the unknown seas.
