Chris Stewart, LA
Role on the board
I joined the board in September 2021 as the Local Authority Governor.
Professional skills/background
I am a chartered Accountant and the past 31 years I have owned and managed, with my wife, an accountancy practice in Berkhamsted. Most of my time has been spent advising clients on tax planning opportunities and recently I trained to become a licensed probate practitioner. For the past four years, I have been involved in school fundraising as Treasurer of the BSA and for the past seven years I have carried out a leadership and oversight role as warden and Head of Finance at Sunnyside church.
Interest in being a Governor
Having lived and worked in Berkhamsted for the past 31 years, I have financial and commercial skills to bring to the role, together with a desire to give back to a school where my children, over ten years, have benefited and flourished from an all round education and character building care. My eldest daughter went through Berkhamsted when it was a middle school and is now a teacher at another Berkhamsted school and my youngest is now in year 6. I believe Bridgewater has provided my children with the best possible start to their educational and personal development and I am delighted to be part of the team to continue that provision for further generations.
