Jo Murphy, Co-opted (Chair)
Role on the board: I joined the board in January 2020 as an associate governor.
Professional skills/Background: I am currently lead design planning manager at Selfridges, responsible for the design & development of the stores. I have 24 years’ experience in retail in a variety of roles including various design functions, marketing, property and customer experience. I have also been an independent visitor for a young person in care for the last 5 years as well as other voluntary roles including brownies.
Interest in being a governor: I have a daughter in year 1, and really enjoy being part of the Bridgewater community so would like to give something back. I am passionate about all things creative, especially art and design and the importance it has in education and self-expression. My only personal journey to becoming a parent and my voluntary work as an independent visitor means that I am also an advocate for all different types of family units, children’s development & wellbeing, particularly around attachment, mental health etc…
