Piet Mondrian

We have been learning about Piet Mondrian in art.  He was interested in abstract art and liked to paint using primary colours with black lines and white spaces. 

Mark Rothko

We learnt about Rothko who was born in Russia in 1903. He used colour to show how he was feeling.  Rothko painted 'Colour Field' where he used carefully mixed colours painted in simple blocks and lines.

Firework Art

We used toilet rolls to make rockets, with tissue paper flames.  Then we used pastel chalks on a black ground to create fireworks.  We stuck our rockets to our firework display.
