Rachel Blackie, Staff
Role on Board:
Staff Governor.
Professional skills/background:
This is my 6th year at Bridgewater. Throughout this time I have been lucky enough to work across the year groups, in various roles. From crazy days in Reception, to SATS with Year 6.
I currently work in Year 2. I have recently qualified as a Forest School Teacher and I am in our gorgeous woods three afternoons a week, with different year groups.
Prior to Bridgewater I worked across various sectors, in administration, finance and office management. The move to work with children was a game changer for me. I am passionate about children getting the most out of their education, with their wellbeing always at the forefront.
Interest in being a Governor:
Bridgewater takes a real team effort. Staff and children work together in unity to provide a start for children unlike anything else found locally. We have our own woodland and treehouse, which not many schools can say they have! I have a passion for education and believe that all children are unique and deserve to be nurtured on their own individual learning journey.
Your advice/quote for children at Bridgewater School:
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken". Oscar Wilde
"I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." Mewtwo, Pokemon
